Mission Statement 使命:

More disciples, more like Jesus.

Vision

Our vision is to be a reproducing church that shares the truth and love of Christ to all those in need.

Key Verse
Ephesians 2:13, 19 – But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.

History 历史:
The history of Journey Church began in January of 2012 when a Bible study group meeting in the home of Greg and Anne O’Boyle (missionaries with ABWE Canada) determined they were interested in forming a church that met weekly on Sundays. The newly-formed group met for the next 2 ½ years in the O’Boyles’ home and the homes of others who attended. As the group increased from 15 to 30 we knew we were outgrowing the home situation and began looking for other meeting places. In July of 2014 a relationship with the Wideman Church was established, allowing us to rent their building. We now have a regular attendance between 40-50 people of mostly Mandarin-speaking Chinese, and other ethnicities. We offer Chinese translation for all English services, weekly Bible studies and events.

Our ministry is geared to reaching families. We have classes for children, and a main focus on reaching parents who in turn can reach their children with the gospel of Christ. In June each year we host a youth group from the U.S. who runs an evening Vacation Bible School, while the parents attend a marriage and parenting workshop for the week at Willow Springs Camp. We also offer a wilderness experience in Algonquin Provincial Park each summer and several family retreats throughout the year (July, September and February).

Core Values
We value truth, God’s Word as the final authority regarding all issues of life and practice.

We value grace – the good news of the gospel, that God sent His only Son Jesus to rescue sinners.

We value the church, God’s instrument for sharing this good news and encouraging one another to love and good deeds.

We value the family, God’s divine means of filling the earth and pointing children to the Creator and Savior Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally written were God-breathed, both verbally and in every part.

We believe in one God, the Creator of heaven and earth; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died in our place on the cross, rose from the dead, returned bodily into heaven, and is coming again to establish His kingdom

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son and of the same nature. We believe there is a distinction between the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament and His ministry in the New Testament.

We believe the Scriptures teach that man was created by a direct act of God and not from a previously existing form of life. By voluntary transgression he fell from his state of innocence; consequently all men are now sinners by nature and by choice.

We believe the Scriptures teach that salvation of sinners is divinely initiated, completely of grace, and accomplished only through the reconciling work of the Son of God.

We believe the Scriptures teach that the Church of Jesus Christ, distinct from Israel in the Old Testament, began at Pentecost.

We believe the Scriptures teach that baptism is the single immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to show his identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. We believe that the Lord's Supper is the commemoration of His death until He comes.

We believe the Scriptures teach the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust. Believers by faith in Christ will spend eternity in the presence of God, unbelievers in everlasting punishment.

We believe the Scriptures teach that there is a personal devil who is the "god of this age" and the "prince of the power of the air".

We believe the Scriptures teach that every believer should be separated unto God and from worldliness, and by the aid of the Holy Spirit should walk in Christian love and holiness.
